Katie Talbot

Katie Talbot is a communications professional with more than a decade of experience in creative, strategic and government communications.

She most recently served as Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, where she was appointed in 2024. Previously, she served in legislative leadership in the office of California Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon and worked in local broadcast journalism.

Katie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and History from University of California, Santa Cruz. A Sacramento native, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her husband Doug and son Calvin and welcomed another bundle of joy in February 2026.
